A Message from the Founder

Founder, TCK Hub

Greetings!

I’m Rick Granger, founder of TCKHub.com. I’ve spent the last thirty years working for youth and families in the international community. For most of that thirty years, I have kept thinking there needed to be a one-stop shop where third culture kids, their families, and the people who work with them could find resources. I hope TCK Hub can be that place.

I grew up on a small farm in eastern Pennsylvania and first worked with military kids volunteering in youth ministry while serving in the US military. I went on to study youth ministry at university, where I met and married my wife, Lynsey. Shortly after, we took our first overseas posting together in Thailand and immediately fell in love with working with TCKs and their families. We knew right away we wanted to raise our own children in the international community.

Over these past three decades we have lived and worked in Thailand, the US, Hong Kong, the Cayman Islands, and South Korea, raising our own TCKs along the way and eventually transitioning from youth ministry into international education. We’re now empty nesters, with all our children back in their passport country. I recently completed my doctoral studies on the lived experience of TCKs transitioning home, aptly timed for our family experience, and today I serve as an administrator at an international school in central South Korea.

I hope this site can be the resource I always wished existed. Welcome. I hope you find it useful, and please share it with anyone who might benefit.

A Message from the Director

Director of TCK Engagement & Services, TCK Hub

Hi!

I’m Megan, and I serve as the Director of TCK Engagement & Services at TCK Hub. As a U.S. diplomatic dependent, I grew up across six countries and have since lived in four additional countries as an Adult Third Culture Kid, as well as six U.S. states. This multicultural and globally mobile upbringing has deeply informed my professional work as an intercultural trainer and TCK/CCK consultant, where I support globally mobile individuals, families, and communities.

My debut book, Belonging Beyond Borders: How Adult Third Culture Kids Can Cultivate a Sense of Belonging, equips and empowers TCKs to recognize their cultural competencies and apply them across personal, professional, and cultural contexts. I also spearheaded the books Letters Now Sent: A Collection of Letters from the Globally Mobile and A Work of Heart: A Collection of Artwork from Multicultural Individuals. In 2022, I founded Beyond Borders Publishing, a platform dedicated to amplifying stories and creative perspectives that reflect culturally fluid experiences, including those of TCKs, CCKs, Adult TCKs, TCAs, expats, repats, and others who navigate life “in between” cultures.

Drawing on my expertise in intercultural training and my background in international education, I develop socio-emotional and educational programming tailored to the unique needs of TCKs, CCKs, and globally mobile families. I regularly facilitate in-person and virtual workshops, university student retreats, and intercultural dialogue groups for a range of educational, community, and international organizations.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to listening to, honoring, and amplifying TCK and CCK stories. I am passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate questions of home, identity, culture, and belonging.

I love TCK Hub because it brings together people, resources, and perspectives that explore, celebrate, and support the TCK experience. I’m excited to contribute to a platform that can serve as an increasingly robust, accessible, and valuable resource for TCKs and for the individuals, families, educators, and organizations who support them. I’d love to hear your ideas about how we can continue to strengthen TCK Hub and make it even more helpful to the global TCK community. You can email me at megan@tckhub.com.
